Large 1/2”x 5” ferrocerium rod fire starter with striker and 24” of 550 Paracord lanyard. Suitable for camping, emergency kits and more. Before use Remove paint/coating: Most ferro rods/strikers come with a paint or coating that prevents oxidation. This coating needs to be removed before a spark can be created. A general rule of thumb is that you should see a shiny area on the rod and striker where you will scrape. You can use included striker, stones, or a knife, etc, until both rod and striker have a shiny surface to produce large hot sparks.
